The Titan Disc Brake Kit and BrakeRite Electric-Hydraulic Actuator part # T4843800 comes with two breakaway batteries which are just small batteries responsible for applying the brakes on the trailer in the event it becomes detached from the tow vehicle and are required by law in most states. Therefore, yes you do need to install the breakaway batteries that come with the kit.

You're correct that you need a 4-way to 5-way adapter, like part # 47515, to have the proper connection on your 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport to your boat trailer. The adapter plugs into the 4-way you've already installed and has the additional wire that needs to be spliced into the Rover's reverse light circuit using the included quick splice connector. We do have the Curt trailer hitch for the 2012 Range Rover Evoque, # C13128. There is no drilling required for installation but the exhaust will need to be temporarily lowered for installation and there is some minor fascia and heat shield trimming required. Curt states that a full-sized spare will not fit on your 200 Land Rover LR3 with their hitch part # 13456 installed at the same time. You might consider tracking down a smaller spare so that you can still have a spare with this hitch installed.

The plastic molding that runs down the tracks on either side of the roof is removed, and then trimmed. For a 4-pole trailer connector, you'll need part # 119178KIT. The wiring harness/converter would wire directly into the circuits feeding your taillight assemblies. I've linked you to a video showing the wiring harness being installed on a 2006 Honda Element. The wire colors on your Land Rover would be different, but the testing to determine which wire carries which circuit and the procedure would be very similar for your vehicle.

Thank you for the information. The instructions might be better off saying that the connectors are usually on the passenger side but could be in an alternate location such as the driver side. This is not the first time I have heard of this. Subaru is actually notorious for moving the connection points to different locations. This is the first time I have heard of the issue on a Land Rover though.

No, the # C59496 trailer wiring harness for the 2008 LR2 by Land Rover will not affect the back-up sensors on your vehicle. No other parts are required to install a 4-Way trailer connection.
This harness is in no way tied into the reverse circuit and only uses the vehicles brake, turn and tail light signals as a switch, the power for the trailer lighting comes from the vehicle battery.

If the trailer you're wanting to pull has electric brakes, and you want them to operate, you will need a brake controller. Having a dealer-installed 7-way won't eliminate the need for a brake controller.

I could see needing to trim the rear fascia for the Land Rover OEM hitch, but the Draw-Tite hitch does not require fascia trimming.
It is designed to fit just below the rear bumper. I imagine the hitch that Land Rover offers is designed to fit and look like the optional factory hitch.

To actuate the electric brakes on the horse trailer, you will need to install a brake controller in your Land Rover. I would recommend a proportional controller, such as the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The Prodigy is one of our best selling controllers, has been for years primarily because it works great and is very easy to use. It sounds like you are hardwiring your Prodigy P2 # 90885 trailer brake controller. If the controller is not powering up the issue would be on the black wire that delivers 12V operating power to the controller via a circuit breaker like # PK54230. The white ground wire also of course must be connected to the battery negative terminal.

I spoke to my contact at Tekonsha and he said that the port for installing a brake controller on your 2013 Range Rover Land Rover Evoque is under the dash near the center console. He said that all models of your vehicle should have the port. My contact at Curt who also makes brake controllers confirmed the same thing.
